Need help to understand m2 slot on this mobo

I saw the MSI MAG Z490 tomahawk do have 2 m2 slot, i do not understand if they are both nvme and if do they perform the same, or is better to use one instead the other one

both slots supports gen 3 x4 m.2 drives.  Both will preform the same.

 

The board supports nvme booting, so any pcie nvme drive is bootable.
