I'm just gonna take the whole thing apart. The case is trashed anyways. Mobo and everything is coming out.

The case is different but it's the "same" motherboard

 

 

Yeah....this isn't the same. Different power supply, different HDD cage, different cpu cooler. It's all different except the mobo and CPU probably.

I would use it as a Steam In-Home Streaming Client system. Use your main rig as the system that renders the game, and that box to stream the game to.

 

You might need to install a cheap GPU that has HDMI, but it doesn't need to be powerful, since that system isn't going to be rendering the game.

thats a dell oplex pc we have them at my school. check the ram it wil prob be bad cause the ones at school have like 512mb

OK...it's an Optiplex 745. I looked it up on Dell's website using the service tag #. Gonna look up a mobo diagram now.

we have them at school and when you put 4 gb ram and a pentium they run the best in the school and are decent for typing and browsing the net put if you put elements on them they get a little bit laggy

General warning to people picking up electronics off the side of the road:  You never know the conditions that computer was used in or the household.  Computer's may have bugs in them(like actual living bugs) so be cautious with it.  

 

I wonder if the machine will post or anything?

If you never need to pull a server out of racks, you are probably doing something right.

Dude, this PC seems pretty decent. The case is trashed, so modding it is out. Even trying to find power can be a pain in the ass.  The MB, luckily, has PCIe, so try to mod a cheap case to fit that MB and try to fit a 750Ti in it.

I would only use it as a router with pf sense and 2 intel add in cards.

All the caps look solid, Dell's are notorious for leaky caps that make the system auto shut off when it feels like it, but you're good to go! (just keep an eye on them)

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

Yeah this is your standard OptiPlex LGA775 motherboard. They have a TON of them on eBay stupid cheap.

It has SATA, a dual core processor (maybe), maxes out RAM at 8GB, and has Gigabit ethernet...one hell of a find.
