150 USD is B550/X570 territory.

Are you buying from another country? If so, what is it and what's your budget (in your currency, not converted to USD)?

For $161.49 you can get a Asus TUF X570 if you like that, it should be able to handle a 2700x nicely :)https://pcpartpicker.com/product/dmGnTW/asus-tuf-gaming-x570-plus-wi-fi-atx-am4-motherboard-tuf-gaming-x570-plus-wi-fi

There are a few other options like the MSI B450 Pro Gaming Carbon for $159.99 however the TUF X570 mentioned above is probably your best bet for the price https://pcpartpicker.com/product/mcjNnQ/msi-b450-gaming-pro-carbon-max-wifi-atx-am4-motherboard-b450-gaming-pro-carbon-max-wifi

I hope this helps :) there are many other boards on the market so feel free to have a look on here
https://pcpartpicker.com/products/motherboard/#sort=-price&X=0,16436&V=8000,6001,6000,4000&s=33

And you can get a good idea on which boards are good or not over here

I hope that I was able to help 🙂

I'm in America. I'm not apposed to B550/x570 I just don't want to go super basic and need to have on board wifi and a micro atx format since ethernet isn't possible for me and I already have the case since I'm upgrading not building fresh.

I'd look for a B550M Mortar WIFI or TUF B550-Plus WIFI, or a B550M PRO-VDH WIFI as a cheaper option.

Made an oopsie there - B550 is only compatible with Zen 2 and Zen 3, so your 2700X wouldn't work.

mATX B450 boards with onboard WIFI are fairly scarce - looking at what's available on PCPP at the minute, Asrock's B450M/AC is pretty much the only logical option: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/kcCFf7/asrock-b450mac-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-b450mac

Alternatively, you could get a board without onboard WIFI and just throw a PCIe WIFI card in there:

Overpriced board and is not worth 160 dollars, also it is not mATX.

Or the b450 mortar max if you can find one in stock. Do note that the b450 pro s is the good tuf b450 board, the tuf plus is an abysmal board, as for X570, mATX is a dead form factor with those boards sadly.

And as for wifi, you can add a wifi card for that.

Also do you already have the cpu? if so, what board do you already have?

you want a board with wifi.. a board with wifi or a board with a wifi card will both have the same problem.

iirc, it's the same vrm as the b450 pro 4, decent budget board and should handle the 2700x just fine.

Yea I learned it doesn't but pc parts picker lists them as compatible which fooled me into thinking they where, but after testing again with a friends newer pcie wifi card i think it will work for me so i have more board options now. as for the aorus i have no experience with that exact board what issues does it have, im open to other brands but gigabyte is my preference.

it's a 4 phase with 8 4C010N and 8 4C06N iirc, and for that price, you can get a lot better boards, the vrm on it are pretty bad for the price. also it's not even matx..?

Generally, The pro 4 can simply handle the 2700x better, as to the vrm temps difference, that depends on more than one thing, there's no clear answer but the pro 4 is better.

What's wrong with the boards i suggested?

Nothing wrong with the ones you suggested I was just interested in learning why you said some where bad since I don't know a ton about motherboards when you get into things like vrms. I will admit I was loving the RGB on the steel legend but am able to resist the RGB syrin song. I also do want more than a basic board so I'm really leaning toward a mortar max but if I do go with it I'll probably hold off until cyber Monday to try and get a deal.

You could always get rgb strips etc if you want, the b450 SL is sadly subpart and is overpriced for what it offers, but yea the boards I listed above will handle a 2700x just fine.

A good budget B450 these days you can't find for less than 80$ and if you spend a bit more you get a quality B550 such as the B550 M Pro4. Makes little sense for you to spend that money and save a few dollars on a old gen product that is subpar to what you can get with the B550, good VRMs, better memory compatibility, future proof, PCIe 4.0.

B550 isn't compatible with ryzen 2000 chips.

I'm still looking a a couple boards but the mortar max is by far the front runner I like that its not a super basic board but still quality.
