Anyone know how to temporarily block a website with just access to the phones DNS settings?

Ryanwake

My gf video chats in her sleep and I've been trying to figure out a way to crash it. It always crashes anyways I just wish it would happen earlier.

And my appartment complex dosent let tenants access the network settings.

I was thinking from the pie hole adblock video that there could be a way.

Hopefully I can I can set up a virtual pie hole one my phone, and if it's not activated or my phone is off it will just default to 0.0.0.0 or something.

You can just get your own AP using a Tenda AP thingy, and block a certain IP address

But she could just turn data on and bypass the AP anyways

Please tag me @RTX 3090 so I can see your reply

I didn't think about data, luckily she does this on her old phone.

I just want to turn it off just long enough to end the chat so she probably wouldn't nitice

Pinhole probably won't work:

1. there might not be a DNS request during the phone call

2. if it might be cached locally so it never ask the DNS server.

I assumed it crashed cuz the internet cut out we have shit internet.

This is what it looks like at 6 am, in the middle of the day the downloaded can be a 10th of that.

Edit: Just reread the part about where she has no control over the network settings.  This will only work if her apartment has a network jack where she can setup her own wireless router.

Most SOHO routers have a parental control function that can completely cut off the internet at a certain time and then automatically turn it back on. (I use it to stop my minion's from letting Netflix and Hulu from running all night)

1) Login to your router

2) Assign the offending device a static IP based on the MAC address in the DHCP setting

3) Find the parental control setting

4) tell it to restrict internet access from 1AM to 2AM (or what ever time you want it to disconnect)

This should be enough time to bump the connection so it times out.
