Any good Apple watch competitors?

I got my wife an Apple watch 3 for christmas last year and have been thinking about getting one myself. The cost is obviously a bit prohibitive, and I was wondering if there were any good alternatives to an Apple brand smartwatch. I am mainly looking for the ability to keep track of my health a little better as I am getting older. I like the newest one's ability to take an ECG and read blood O2 levels along with the fitness tracking. If anyone has some recommendations I would certainly appreciate them. TIA

This does not exist in any other watch. There are Xaomi watches that are a good price but nothing with the ECG and the Blood O2 thing.

What I have been finding in my search. They are mainly just simple fitness trackers at best.

There is no competition between Apple Watch and anything else. Linus himself dislikes both android wearables and android auto.

If you're an iPhone user, I'll be direct: get an Apple Watch. It's not just that it's the best on iOS and has the tightest integration, it's that it's widely considered the best smartwatch on any platform.

 

Samsung's watches are good picks on Android, but they don't have as much functionality on iOS and have a limited app ecosystem to start with. Wear OS is a bit so-so regardless of platform. And Fitbit's hardware is alright, but even the brand new Sense has some messy software.

 

If you do get an Apple Watch Series 6, don't worry about getting more than a standard model unless you really want LTE or a posher material like steel or titanium.
