Current system : ryzen 5 2600

GB rx5700xt

8gbx2 - vengeance 2400mhz (i know wtf? #2018RamPrices)

Msi b450M gaming plus (seems the current faulty part)

Corsair Ven 650M

My usage is gaming for at least 4 hrs daily. And occasional streaming. Hoping the mobo lasts the full warranty period. Living in a hot country.

Was eyeing the b450 tomohawk max, but is there a better msi board for around same price? Or some other brand?

Also what chipset shoukd i go with for me setup?

The B450 Tomohawk Max is a solid motherboard and great for the price. Unless you will be upgrading to the new Ryzen cpu coming out next month, you can stay at b450. If you are upgrading cpu next month, then get a B550 or X570.

So here is my final plan - B450 tomahawk max purchase within couple days. Then about 2 years later upgrade to R7 3700/ 3700x. Although I might still use thr 2400mhz sticks.

Is it good for the wallet?

Is this an ideal upgrade strategy?
