How much will 7700k bottlenecks RTX 3080

I have been using my 7700k with a 1070 for 3 years now. I delided and overclocked my 7700k to 5Ghz and I wonder if this is enought for the 3080.

Look at i3-10100 results and add about 10% for a stock 7700k. In some games that 5ghz overclock will give you identical FPS as a 10900k, in others, very much less if they are thread-heavy, but most somewhere in between.

At 1080P?

1440P, not as bad.

 

4K, not too much.

Depends entirely on the game and performance target

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

You'll be limited by the core count at 1080p or 1440p.

At 4K not that much as it will be GPU heavy.

resolution and games?

 

i would imagine you getting framepacing issues in some modern games due to lack of threads

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately
