That should be just a snippet of the Frostbite 1 engine that they used to make the game with....

I should be more specific, Frostbite Editor.

It's almost certainly an internal map editor for the Frostbite engine. If it has an official name I can't find it.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That image is way too low quality too tell. If I had to guess, I'd say C or C++, but can't be sure.

Probably, given the timeframe. However, I saw your other post about Battlefield, and this is all outdated stuff. If you're interested in learning game programming, you should investigate what's being used/done today, not in the past.

Why does it matter what IDE was used? Whatever IDE that was used back then would either not be relevant now, or has been updated to the point that it no longer bears any resemblance to a 2008 version.

Probably their own internal tools?

Looks like a lot of "Brush work" so it could be a variant of a Quake engine.
Otherwise, it also looks similar to some early Unreal Engine interfaces.

I'm betting on ID Tech internal upgrade. 90% of internal tools by 2009~ have roots in Quake.

Nearly every try single big game company has at least one, if not multiple custom game engine that are not available to the public.

*** Threads merged ***

There's really no need or sense to make multiple threads asking question each time you see some software in some documentary. Please keep them in this one thread.

I'm moderator. We have some extra tools for keeping forums clean. You can help us by using one thread for same/similar questions, editing your posts rather than posting again to add stuff (you can edit title's too), and using multiquote when replying to more than one post (plus-sign to collect posts before replying). You can also break quotes to parts by pressing line-break (enter-key) multiple times.

You are asking about software, that is not only fairly old, but near impossible to identify based on the super low resolution.

Any of this software could also be private software that was never released to the public.

Like this one. It looks like C apart from that fact that the statement terminator is a newline, so the language is unknown without more details. The UI resembles a very old Microsoft Developer Studio, but its missing various elements to be that. For all we know it could be a custom Application made for console development or for a specific game engine, which is fairly common.

@fpo mentions they have seen this in various other Ubisoft Development Screenshots for there internal Ubisoft Engine, so its probably a private development kit that was never released to the public.

You would probably be better off asking in another forum that focuses on game consoles and games from that era.
