So I have an iPhone and I love it. I also have a windows PC. I really like the idea on having all my messages from my phone on my pc. I don't want to shell out $1200 to buy a macbook i wont use for anything else. I'm just wondering if there is any way to get iMessage in pc with out owning a Mac?

Thanks!

Apple very much uses exactly that kind of minor but very convenient "nice thing to have" as a way to push people into buying all their stuff.

Check if iMessage is available on iCloud.com. I can’t remember if it is but a lot of iCloud apps are there (including iphotos) so if your iMessage is synced with the cloud, it might be available there.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

I was think that too. But wasn't sure if it would work at all.

I message and Air Drop are usually the first things that don’t even work on a Hackintosh

You’re not missing anything. Messages on Mac has to be one of the most buggy messes I’ve ever experienced over the course of the last few years.

Sometimes your Mac will receive a message that your phone never gets, sometimes the reverse happens. Sometimes the notification process on Mac will glitch out and start muting itself OR your phone causing you to miss everything until you force quit the process. The list goes on...

Annoyingly, Safari history syncing has similar problems.

You can use something like AirServer to mirror your phone on your PC. It's not free though.

You can also download it from the Microsoft Store and it seems to have a 30-day free trial.

Note: I don't use it, so I don't know if you can type/click around using your mouse and keyboard.

Not a helpful post for now:

On your next phone you can get an Android phone, and now you can use Microsoft "Your Phone", which allows you to send/receive SMS/MMS from your PC, same for phone notifications, view/transfer/dragNdrop into app recent images from your phone and potentially more depending on your phone make and model.
