Does an UPS change how a psu works ?!

Hello guys so I'm planning to get a psu with 100-240V input , dc to dc and 550W  I since in my country we have a lot of power cuts so I gota UPS ( uninterrupted power supply ) and it says it has 200-240V input and 450w and I guess it's dc to ac  does that mean my power supply will also work at 200-240V input and dc to ac  ?

Your PSU is AC->DC.

 

The UPS is AC->AC in normal mode and DC->AC in battery power mode.

 

The input to the PSU is always AC and the presence of a UPS does not change how the PSU works.

Yes, your PSU can accept voltage between 100V to 240V.

Your PSU won’t work different, but it will all work just fine. Everything coming out of the wall is AC, and depending where you live, it’s usually 110 or 220 (sounds like your 220 volt). The AC to DC and DC to DC is just what’s happening internally. You can google it and learn how it all works, which I recommend doing if your interested. Or you can just accept it’ll work fine.

so I have nothing to worry about right ? because i'hv been told that the 100-240v input is better than the 200-240v so when I saw the ups has 200-240v I got worried thinking that my psu will work like a 200-240v psu  

srry I don't really know a lot about these stuffs but I would love to learn !

so can you explain to me why my psu and a lot says they are dc-dc since u said the voltage coming from the wall is AC ?

Internally it converts 12V DC to 3.3V and 5V DC.

100-240 means it’s capable of working *anywhere* in the world. Here in America, we use 110v AC current. A 220V device will not work here... but a 100-240 will as it can detect what the voltage is, and work accordingly. If you live where there is 220, you should use 220, it’s actually more efficient than 110 (not that you really have a choice, what’s coming out of your wall is 220, your not going to change that, you could, but your not going to).

 

Your UPS will likely output 220 based on you saying it’s a 200-240v input, and your PSU will be ok with that as it’s capable or running off 220 (it would do the same if you plugged it directly into your wall). 
 

DC and AC just means direct current and alternating current. Batteries are DC, electronic logic circuits are DC, basically everything you “use” is DC. But for more efficient power transmission at long distances (power wires to your house) AC is much more efficient with less loss, so AC is used to get power to your house, then the things you plug into the wall do an AC to DC conversion. DC to DC switching PSU’s just mean it’s making it DC, and leaving it as DC as it switches between the different 12v, 3.3, and 5v rails. Your CPU, GPU, and main power on the 24 pin are all 12v, but SATA power also has 5v pins, as well as molex, and the 24 pin to the mobo also has 3.3v pins on top of 12 and 5v. So DC to DC switching is just the more efficient way of taking your 220v AC and making it 12/5/3.3v DC.
