Is my pcie slot 1.0 or 2.0?

I know this seems like a dumb question. But it says in the Speccy app that its just 1.0. But i dont believe it, as this was a 2014 motherboard, its made for lga 1150, thanks!

The H81 chipset itself provides PCIe 2.0 slots. The Intel Haswell CPUs offer PCIe 3.0. Your board has both 2.0 and 3.0 in that case. The 16x slot is PCIe 3.0.

Speccy is the worst, don't use it. It often just can't tell what your system is doing

 

A PCIe x16 slot on an H81 motherboard is most likely operating at 3.0.

Oh thank god, just bought a 1080 and i was worried for a second, its just all the articles said it would say pcie 3.0, but it just said pcie. Thanks a lot

No problem

 

Once you have the need to go beyond the GTX1080, everything else needs to be upgraded anyway. Should be good to go

Yes i know, i still have my 1050ti that i will sell with my current PC, then i will spend $650 on a AMD system
