Used Enermax Platimax 1000W, is it worth?

Hello, i recently upgraded my hardware with a 3600X and a 2080ti, in this moment i have a Corsair TX650W that is that is 12/13 years old, it is working perfectly but seen its age i prefer change it before it fails and maybe kills my new hardware. Ive found an used Platimax 1000W still under warranty and i was wondering if it was worth the change, or maybe if i should buy something new with less wattage. My system shouldnt pass 400W under full load so 1000W is probably overkill but i love the high efficency it provides. Is there anything around that is better for my use case at about 100€?

For €100, just get a new RM550x or Straight Power 11 550W.

I wouldn't buy a used PSU.

For that money get a tx550m. Or a straight power/pure power 11. Or an rm550x.

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

Well, you chose the right username when you signed up because that's exactly what you're getting right now 👀

This!

If you can afford an RTX 2080Ti you can afford a new PSU. @Mateyyy gave a couple of good suggestions above.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

Get a decent unit new. I saw a few Be Quiet Straight Power Platinum models for 100-130$

Yhea, i mean it has always been under UPS, but it also worked at least 8/hrs every day with high wattage GPUs so i still think its a miracle that it is still alive.

They both are around 130€, but i also know that go cheap on PSUs is not a good idea, is the TX550m or the TX650m much worse? They are all 80+ GOLD.

Efficiency isn't quality. But a tx550m is great and will be more than enough.

A TX550M should work fine, though its fan tends to be a little on the loud side compared to its competition. At around the same price I'd also look for a Pure Power 11 500W.

Ideally though I'd go for the RMx or SP11.

Both RMx SP11 550w are out of stock, are the 650W versions good? Just 5€ difference so in case ill take on of them. Also at this point i can go for the 150€, i just want something that hopefully will last as long as the one i have did.

The RMx is a bit better than the TXM, with some notable improvements being that the RMx is fully modular vs semi-modular for the TXM as well as a better fan/fan profile on the RMx making it quieter than the TXM. For a system with a 2080Ti I'd definitely shell out the few extra bucks for an RMx or similar, but even a new TXM would be preferred over using a 13 year old PSU.

The Corsair RMx and Seasonic Focus PX have a 10 year warranty, if you're looking for some assurance as to how well the PSU will run long-term. Seasonic's Prime Platinum has a 12 year warranty, but that one's also a bit more expensive than the previous ones I've mentioned. I'd probably go for the RMx since it's the quietest, because of the better fan Corsair's using.

The 650W variants are just as good.

I can find the prime platinum 550W at the same price of the RM650x, if it is a bit better i can go for it. Also fan noise is not a problem.

Yeah it's a very solid performer. I'd go for it in that case.

Not overall better, imo. It's louder, has a worse fan, there are fewer custom cables available, and because it's Seasonic, the QC and soldering quality may not be as good.

:)
