Is the 9600 overclocked? In all honesty, even if it is, your likely ok. But... just, barely, ok. 650 would be more desirable, but a 550 should technically be fine.

Also, just an FYI, likely new GPU's coming out in the next few months that would be worth waiting for (even if to juts grab a deal on a 2080 or 2080 ti...), and a 9600k and a 2080ti is a bit of an unbalanced setup. Itll work fine, especially if the 9600 is at 5 GHz. But as games start to care about core count more and more, your CPU is going to become more and more of a bottleneck. Just something to consider.

At higher resolutions, your CPU becomes less and less of an issue, and like I said, especially at 5 GHz.

Some good info for ya:

Also, for reference. my rig with its 9900k which by itself can suck down 200 watts, never draws over 500 watts... But, you are cutting it very, very close. I personally wouldn't do it. I your CPU is not overclocked though, itll be fine. If it is......... don't do it.

Imagine your 9900k is already approaching bottlenecking.

That's what happens when you don't buy on passmark/$

What Seasonic 550W PSU?

550W is plenty for a 2080Ti and 9600K, as long as it's a good unit.

As a side note, I'd advise you wait for Ampere and RDNA2 instead of pulling the trigger on a 2080Ti now though.

What 550w? Wattage wise yes. But if it's something like an s12II/s12III then I wouldn't run both of these with it.

Plus just wait for ampere and big Navi. And a 2080ti is a waste of money. Just get a 2080 super if you're considering the ti.

It depends on what 2080 ti you get.

Most that are left at MSRP are non As so they only use about 280 watts but there are A GPUs that can use more than 380 watts.

My setups below has uses more than 550 watts but only when the CPU and GPU are working hard at the same time.

So Games like SOTTR use about 450 watts but AC:O has used over 550.
