Welcome!

Usually newbies asking for PC build recommendations.

The primary demographic is people looking for budget oriented builds. Mostly gaming PCs but sometimes productivity and every sub-forum related to the hardware that would go in them are popular.

 

Troubleshooting is another popular sub-forum. There's a constant stream of people who need help with systems not working both hardware & software. Mostly Windows but there are Linux & MacOS sub-forums.

 

The other sub-forums do see action though to a lesser extent like Networking, Server & NAS, etc. Mostly people asking for help with either things not working or something they want to do but not sure how to go about it like 10Gig networking or how they can convert office PCs into makeshift NAS's.

Welcome!

In addition to all the tech sections mentioned above, there is also the off topic section. There you can talk about your other hobbies. They have everything from groups for people who like cars to people want to show off what they just bought.

My favorite is the parrot gang thread. All you have to do to join it is change your profile picture to one of the animated birds (like mine). And comment on there.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

I'd recommend reading the Community Standards, Quick Guide to the Forums, and the Forum FAQs to get your bearings on the forums. As for what to talk about, most tech-related things have their own dedicated sub-forums, so... check out what interests you? Hello there and warm Welcome to the Forum ! Greetings from Switzerland !
