I switched graphics card to my new rig which has 3900X and ran some benchmarks.

Installed latest drivers for RTX 2080 Super.

Sadly in 3D apps freeze (MSI Kombustor,3D Mark) or switch me back to desktop.

I didn't have issues with first rig,I played games normally on this graphics card.

What could cause this and how to resolve?

I haven't had any issues with this card in first rig but I think I haven't installed most recent drivers (probably installed previous version).

I will post a video when it uploads.

Temps of GPU are normal for this card.

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with, and even if you think I'm rude or not polite, forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

Thanks for understanding.

Another day another problem

Did you have another graphics card before this? If so, which one?

Did you use DDU to uninstall the driver previously installed?

Yes it was AMD but didn't install drivers for it.

When I pluged the card I think W10 installed drivers but I overwrite them with most recent ones.

Only difference compared to previous rig is that I hooked the card with monitor via DP 1.2 cable and on previous rig was on HDMI.

And driver versions are not the same.

I hope this is not HW related issue.

I'm waiting for video to upload so I can post.

What should I do?

DDU drivers and install which version?

Should I try maybe other tests and how long?

DDU whatever drivers you've got on there (including the leftover AMD ones) and download and install 446.14 from Nvidia's website.

Install latest from Nvidia directly. https://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

If 3D mark is having trouble, other ones will have trouble too.

installed latest drivers.

Yeah no you can't just install drives and "overwrite" the previous ones, you need to use DDU to actually remove everything before installing your new card.

I'll DDU all the display drivers and reinstall again.

Guys but I didn't install previous drivers.

I installed AMD card to test rig,and I haven't installed drivers for it,nor Windows did (I suppose).

Almost looks like an unstable overclock too, If you have any applied, disable it. Perhaps you have Afterburner installed too (since you mentioned Kombuster) so also may be worth trying with afterburner closed (which disables OC iirc).

Assuming of course the fresh driver doesn't fix it.

If that doesn't work, I would also consider trying a core/memory underclock to diagnose the issue further.

Nope no afterburner,no OC...I did ran DDU it deleted AMD drivers, still having same issue.

No issue with previous rig....and didn't have before, too.

Wtf???

So I suppose card is not malfunctioning?

Should I try 3dmark on this rig?

I'm just playing FC New Dawn.

Well, if you dont have the patience (as mentioned above) how do you expect anybody have the patience for you.

Based on your skill level and ability to diagnose, i would recommend you to just leave your 2080S in your previous rig and stick to whatever for your 3900X rig.

Is this software or hardware issue?

I have 1660 ti strix oc.

Maybe to install that card in new rig and see how it goes.

I can't believe that a card in one rig works okay but in other won't.

Well please help I will try everything.

On this previous rig I just checked I have 441.87 drivers installed.

I had to leave the house,so anxious, that this card fails on me...

What would you guys suggest me to troubleshoot?

This card has DP 1.4 ports but my cable is 1.2.

Could that be a problem?

One thing came to my mind, since PCIE is powering via EPS,I only connected 8 pin EPS connector.

Is that okay?

Could be hmm RAM,maybe PSU,but everything is brand new.

I don't think this is freezing..as you can see it doesn't finish first test it immediatly switches to second.

In kombustor it just switches to desktop after like 15 min of test.

Temps are okay.

How about more simple 3D applications like Unigine Heaven/Valley?

I'll try tomorrow,I'm upset whole day.

You want me to use same card or install other card?

PCIe is powered by the 24-pin, not the 8-pin EPS.

DDU and install 446.14.

Then, install MSI Afterburner, max out your power limit, try again. If that doesn't work, underclock the card and try again.

If that still doesn't work, maybe try a game or something else to make sure that it's not just 3DMark acting up on your system?

will do tomorrow,my friend.

I just ran Metro Exodus, cranked all settings to max,on old rig no issues whatsoever.

And that rig is like 3x worse PC then this.

Some dude on other forums suggested to disable OC on RAM,but I only did load profile 1 where RAM works at speed it specifies.
