i5 10600k or r5 3600xt

which processor should i go for i currently have a b450 mb with a r5 2600 and fancy a upgrade as i was told it is bottlenecking my vega 64 my mb is a aorus elite b450 will i need to upgrade the board as well?

depends on application, though the cpu u listed as upgrades arent really THAT much better imo

Who in the hell told you that? A 2600 won't Bottleneck a 64. 

Wait for zen 3. As the 2600 is fine for now. 

Don't switch your platform as well. 

To answer your question. Neither. A 3600 is a better pick. Though just wait for zen 3.

10600K doesnt fit into B450 boards, you need to replace motherboard also in terms of cost to performance the only logical choice is 3600XT

Zen3 is the better upgrade, tough 1. Gigabyte actually most bother to make BIOS update & 2. if they do he might have to wait a while... (AMD did say 400 series boards will maybe not get the support on launch of Ryzen 4000...)

b450 with ryzen 4000 series is a bit... unclear right now

thanks the board had some great reviews thats why i got it what gen should i get the r5 4600? if my board supports it?

its, as far as "official" information goes, entirely up the the manufactuerer wether or not they will allow you to update the bios to support 4th gen. 

 

 

also the 3600xt is a waste of money, its the same as the 3600x, which allready wastn worth it compared to the 3600.

im on both linus tech tips and toms hardware and i was told on their by a couple people that it would be bottlnecked and i should upgrade (they were a mix of mods and high end accounts )

"bottlenecking" depends on what games you play and more factors for it to be a concern. 

 

if the performance is fine right now, then i dont see a reason to upgrade.

Will be a good bet very likely, but you may have to wait a bit since you do have a working system that should not be a issue. Also beware upgrading the boards BIOS is a one way ticket once you do it it will never be able to use 1st or 2nd gen Ryzen ever again...

well i play in 1440p or 4k my vega seems fine playing in those resolutions i have my settings a mix of high and ultra depending on the game i mainly play games like r6 siege, GTA 5 and minecraft and when im not playing them i play open world games like fallout or nms 

also i had a look acording to them im loosing like 10% of my frames do to the processor is this right

on these two titles you are likely loosing out on a minimal ammount of frames in regards to the resolution you play at. 

 

havent doublechecked any figures, so i can really quantify it.

thanks alot  i still get round 300-500 fps in minecraft 4k with low graphics maxed out its round 200-300 gta sits stable at 60 regardless of settings and so dose siege nms struggles with large open areas but im sure thats down to the cpu not being fast enough

that could be related to the GPU, and not CPU.

yea i lowerd  the games render distance quite far down and lowered some settings to low and medium

i heard no man sky is quite cpu intensive, so it might be the CPU causing issues

you could upgrade if you think it's worth it, or tried overclocking your cpu?

i havnt overclocked it just turbo i only have the stock cooler
