Huh, so you have it set to do nothing and it's still doing it?

Are there any more settings in the advanced power options for USB or PCIe to make sure those all stay on?

There are not.

FOrtunately, I managed to solve the issue.

Here's how: https://superuser.com/questions/1097780/prevent-screen-turning-off-when-lid-is-closed  (Using the gpedit.msc method)

Now everything works fine.

Thanks for the help @Enderman!

I have just bought a USB-C hub with HDMI on it, it works great and all but when I close the lid of the laptop (ASUS G531GU) the external monitor turns off.

It only turns off if I use it through the HUB, with the built in port it does not.

I know that it is not a big thing and i could just use the built in port but that's part of why I bought the hub, so it would be great to be able to use it as intended to.

EDIT: The power management settings do nothing, the laptop does not turn off or go to sleep, simply the screens turn off.

Check the advanced power settings to make sure it's set to do nothing when the lid is closed.

Interestingly, i don't have the option to these settings in the advanced settings, only when i click on "Choose when to turn off the display"
