The GTX 1660 Super is about 25-30% stronger than an RX 580, so if you can afford it; the GTX 1660 Super is definitely the way to go between these two

Apologies, in the last sentence of my post I meant to say the 1660 Super.

No idea where these people are getting their info from, but the RX 580 is definitely worse than a 1660 Super.

When I was planning my upgrade from an RX 580 I created a spreadsheet with game fps in different games and the 1660 Super was 27% better on average (in the selection of games and benchmarks I chose).

I completely agree, but you really shouldn't use sites like UserBenchmark to make these decisions

You might be mistaking it for the 1650 Super, which is comparable to the 580.

The 1660 Super on the other hand is just plain faster than the 580.

What people? You should slap them. Hard. The 580 is a direct competitor of the 1060. A 1660 super is obviously better in every way. Not even a contest.

Battlefield V, F1 2020 (because it's from the creators from a game I play a bit), The Witcher 3 and the 3DMark benchmarks FireStrike Ultra and Time Spy.

Not an exhaustive list, but something with a bit of variation.

The 1660 'normal' is 10% better than the RX 580, the 1660 Super is 25% better and the 1660 Ti is 29% better.

So the 1660 ti through your tests is not much better than the 1660 super

It's also more expensive, you could buy 1660 super, sell it for the used price and probably still get enough money for RX 590. There must've been some kind of a mix up, perhaps they meant 1650 super? It'd be much closer in terms of price and performance.

Hey, I'll defend the honor of my 5600 XT on the battlefield, but this isn't a fanbody issue. It's like saying the 5600 XT is better than a 2070 super. It's just not, but it's also not competing there, just as the 580 never competed with the 1660 super.

Not much. In some games it's literally a 2-3fps difference, which might as well be margin of error.

FPS numbers are at 4K and I got these from Guru3D reviews:

Spoiler

image.thumb.png.1eb96fa06f73ef43eef437761aad3b36.png

As you can see, minimal difference (the % numbers are vs. an RX 580).

I’ve seen Jayztwocents use it and so I figure it’s legit. Jay really knows what he’s talking about.
