custom roms are actually quite popular, and unlike jailbreaking, which changes with every update because apple doesn't like it, the process to install ROMs and rooting don't really change from product launch.

Because Apple is lawsuit-happy. Come on, you should know this.

ITS LEGAL. They can't sue when its not illegal.

I don't care how Apple spins it the court will throw out the case and the Forum will get advertising from the media attention.

There are no downsides

Every Root is brand new for each device.
Every Jailbreak spans 10s of devices and multiple iOS versions.

Try Again.

except lawsuits cost money and time and it's really not worth it for one angry guy who hasn't even changed his profile pic.

Tell that to any court who's thrown out cases where people sued when they shouldn't.

You seem to be misinterpreting my disdain for this thread as a disdain for jailbreaking. I don't particularly care. It's all down to the moderators and administrators to judge if it's useful to have a jailbreaking thread up.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

false. for example, with Samsung devices, you download the same utility from the same source, no matter what device that uses the same feature and follow the same procedure. the only thing that changes is the ROM file you use, and there aren't sticky posts for individual devices anyway.

its because jailbreaking requires the same process across all devices so the forum about jailbreaking would be just a huge list consisting of tweaks

while rooting sometimes goes wrong(if not most of the time) so troubleshooting is a huge part of that subforum
