Chinese made DRAM?

Hi I remember reading a article about China gonna make memory chips, that was a year or two ago now and I wonder did they ever make any? Does any of the RAM sticks we can buy today contain any of these? Last sticks I got was SK Hynix(Kingston & Patriot), Samsung(Corsair DDR3) & Samsung(G.Skill DDR4) again... Also if non of the major ones then who does use em? :I

I have some KLLISRE ram and it works fine. Sounds like someone had a stroke when trying to think of a name but hey, it works so that's good enough for me!

googled one and it appears they use SK hynix chips tough the RAM stick was probably Chinese made.

Yes, so is SK hynix... Not sure about Micron...

SK hynix has fabs in china making Dram. 

 

so to technically made in china. 

 

same with Samsung, fabs in china. 

 

 

since we are talking "made by [insert country]" and not company i guess.

From digging a little i found out that Mitsubishi used to make DRAM...and ELPIDA was Japanese too.

ELPIDA bought Mitsubishi's DRAM business and later Micron bought ELPIDA in 2013-2014.

one of their better IC`s that are sought by people who wnat to overclock on the cheap being Rev. E

 

which you can get good bins without paying much of a premium. unlike samsung B-die which cost a decent bit extra for good bins.

There are fully Chinese DDR3 around (used most often in SSDs since DDR3 DIMMs are in low demand), but I dont think DDR4 can be produced without external help still.

Crucial is a division within Micron and Kingston use Micron memory exclusively.

So Crucial and Kingston are the main manufacturers of products using Micron memory.

From my experience the quality is typically higher with Crucial and Kingston products than other manufacturers using Micron memory.

Awws ok I kinda wanted to see what a Chinese RAM stick looked like and performed, I was thinkink maybe it would be DDR4-1866MHz CL19? XD

Edit: Look like? Probably green or brown sticks with no heat-spreader...

Yeah but they only build them like Lego I wanna see the DRAM die itself being from another one than the big 3.
