DRAM Cache in E100 from HikVision?

Senchou
Go to solution Solved by NewMaxx,

The HIKVISION E100 is DRAM-less (SM2258XT). Probably better than the Green, though.

I am planning to buy E100 from HikVision 256GB as it is in my budget. The other option I have is WD Green of the same capacity. But do both of these have DRAM cache? I cant find any reviews whatsoever about the HikVision one have a DRAM cache or not.

WD Green definitely doesn't have a DRAM cache, and I'd wager a no-name brand like HikVision doesn't have DRAM either. Basically I'd suggest the WD Green for a better warranty and way better support.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks, I found that WD Green doesnt have one on a review, you are right about HikVision, though its performance is really great.
I saw a review by Linus about not buying a DRAM-less SSD in the past, so idk if I should go for one.
What about XPG SX6000 Lite PCIe?

If a DRAM-less SSD is really that bad, then my only option is to go for the Samsung 860 EVO which is kind of a bit higher budget than what I had in mind. But maybe I should go for that for better stability and longer life?

That drive does have a dram cache but a wd blue would also be in your budget then or a mx500.

The hikvision SSD is made for security camera systems, so it almost certainly wont have any form of DRAM cache.

That XPG part does seem to have a DRAM cache according to the XPG website, btw XPG is just ADATA afaik so is a respectable brand for the most part.

Why? There are good SSDs that are cheaper than the Samsungs. ADATA is good indeed, have 3 SX8200 Pros, happy with them and they were nearly half the price of Samsungs.
