a sleeper from a dell vostro 260 case

This project started because my dads PC died so I salvage what I could so the rear case fan, RAM and CPU came from that.

Then my friend wants a new pc for gaming and ask if I could build one on a budget a very tight budget had to cut so many corners ( that's why you will see a bunch of salvage parts) 

I got two computers from my church one a dell vostro 260. ( using this for the case, CPU cooler ,PSU 300watt unit and DVD drive )  The second was a dell vostro 420 which I took the cpu fan and DVD drive.

The fans are OEM delta electronics fans

CPU i5 6400T

RAM 12 GB of RAM 1X8GB 1X4GB 

PSU 300 watt dell unit

case dell vostro 260

dual dvd drives from dell ( he is probably going to watch anime this way)

MOBO, GPU and network card

probably going to salvage current hard drive from his system ( defiantly doing this)

also GPU recommendation would be helpful

but all parts have to be brand new

the mobo had to be a micro atx board and I have great experience with asus

but any good recommendations for cheap but reliable MOBO would be nice

Why the dual dvd drives?

 

I am not sure you can salvage the PSU as it may have a proprietary pinout that might fry your standard ATX mobo.

because why not I had two identical ones and thought it would look cool.

it has a standard 24 pin and a 4 eps connector and its has to be micro atx

Yeah unfortunately, PSUs used in pre-builts sometimes dont conform to ATX12V. I took a look, is your PSU this liteon part number (L300NM-00)? If so then you should be good as it conforms to ATX12V.

yes I noticed that it was a standard layout

I dislike lenovos new psu's which is one 15 output (notice this because my schools it lets me do things with them and saw a psu for one of the desktops) compared to my old windows 7 lenovo desktop which used standard 24pin and 4 pin eps.

But lenovo bread and butter is their thinkpads

Nice photos. Might be worth replacing the side panel with a piece of acrylic held in place with magnets, coloring the cables black with a sharpie, and adding some LED strips. True sleeper then

You could also tape (black painter's tape) over the upper green part of the RAM - the green on top, not the chips themselves. Could do the same to your PSU if you take care not to obstruct the fan or any vents, you do NOT want that thing overheating, it'll be pushed to its limits anyway. In fact, you should upgrade it if given the chance.

i like it my first pc also had two drives and I really liked it. was back in the day when you would make lots of Music CDs for backup and the car stereo and for friends...

probably yes I am horrible with spray paint also i didn't have the right kind of tape

It's been awhile, I gave the case and everything inside to a friend to do his build.

The ram is in my current build so I just have a random CPU hanging around.
