We made the SLOWEST NEW PC!

ColinLTT

Hi there,

short note, but it appears the USD and CAD Ram Price in the Video is flipped therefor messing up the calculation and Linus saying its below 600 bucks is correct.

(You had one job! - btw you could do a sanity check on ur values there by checking if the summed up price equals the currency change.)

Also I bet you can dump the price even lower if you don't spend more then 20 bucks on a case (seriusly, anthony did so in the super budget build) and pick up a used gpu - gpus tend to loose 50% value within 2 years.

Basically do a scrapyard video next time where you get max bang but you have to spend like at least 200 or 300 dollars.

What is with these train wreck builds? I watched this like you would watch a dumpster fire. You know the result is going to be bad but you just want to see how bad. What is even more weird is that the video is written and shot like a lets build and tutorial for a PC that is definitely not something you would want to build. I don't get it.

The chance someone wants a custom built PC and is willing to build it themselves, they are budding enthusiasts. They are going to spend time to research enough to buy parts that are compatible. They are going to see what is available at brick and mortar stores, Dell, and in online boutique stores. They are going to get input from others. It is more likely they end up with something a lot closer to your $600 PC then an AliExpress PC or this worst possible configuration PC where the graphics card is worse then the onboard CPU graphics. A system where you have half of the minimum amount of memory for the OS and most games.

I have a better idea for a video. Pick a game, look at the minimum, required, and recommended specs. Build those PCs and bench that game and a few others and compare. It is much more real world than these videos and it might even get views from people that are not already subscribed. Call it Game Spec PCs.

Because it's fun to see how bad the lowest tier new products really are? It's sort of the same reason why reviews of cars like the Mitsubishi Mirage exist. We all know it's going to be a rolling pile of crap. But it's fun to make fun of it and dive into why such products exist in the market.

But to make a video on how to assemble your own Mitsubishi Mirage and then compare it to a sports sedan.
