PC restarts while gaming and benchmarking. Even after switching PSU.

alex_vinz

Hello everyone, I am quite desperate, so any help is appreciated!

This is my first build ever. I completed it 3 weeks ago. My PC restarts (no blue screen, just reboots to lock screen) randomly while playing games and doing benchmarks. During the process my Display loses connection so I'm guessing it's the GPU turning off (but I might be wrong).

I reset my PC and installed all drivers again with no results. Then I thought it must be a hardware issue. After browsing a few forums I monitored my temperatures. GPU and CPU rarely go over 70 degree celsius so I guess it can't be overheating. Then I read it might be a faulty (which would be weird considering I bought it 3 weeks ago or not sufficiently powerful PSU. I had a be quiet! System Power B9 600W fist which I replaced with a 850W Corsait TX850M today. Still no results. Now I am quite desperate and frustrated and I hope someone can help me on here!

My best guess would be a power delivery issue with the motherboard

The ASUS TUF 5700 XT cooling issue was the first suspect that came to mind as well. 👍

KitGuru confirmed the same issue as HardwareUnboxed as well.

Use the GPU-Z sensor tab and you should see it.

PSU is not your problem, that's for sure. Changing it to a bigger one won't solve the problem.

The problem may not be hardware related.

Windows has been sucks lately, so it can also be a buggy update.
