Not even the Switch, but the Animal Crossing Edition ... I'm seeing those things listed for like A$700-800, hell there was even an Amazon listing for $1100 ..

That's the one I wanted, it was £649 on back/pre-order, or 700 new. That's $875 US for it new from Smile on amazon...

The markup is still really high regardless. This is a device new goes for 299. Yet people are trying to charge 500. In some cases, I have seen as much as 700 on ebay.

Even 300€ feels expensive!

- Nintendo Switch 300€, doesn't come bundled with a game. Only has 32gb of internal storage. Can't even run Netflix! So you require a stupid Chromecast additionally to take up the second HDMI port on your TV.

- Xbox One S 229€, comes bundled with 3 games (Fortnite, Minecraft & Sea of Thieves) and 1 month of Xbox Live Gold. 1 Tb of storage, but it's obviously a slow 5400 rpm Sata hard drive.

-PS4 300€, comes bundled with one game.

Well, it's clear that the Xbox is the "inferior" console (in terms of games, everything else is secondary) since it has to retail for way less than the competition. I mean, what do you expect from a greedy American company like Micro$oft? And yet, there are at least dozens of good games on the Xbox. Yeah, the exclusives are kinda... bleh. But there's value

And of course I bought the Switch LOL! I feel kinda dumb. But hey Zelda is fun.

Online retailers need to get their act together and limit purchase quality and add bot blocking mechanisms. Even Amazon Fresh deliveries are absolutely unavailable because some idiot made a script and uploaded to github which refreshes the page every 60 seconds and snags the slots. I haven’t been able to place even 1 order since that made it to the news 2 months ago.

You should contact retailers and complain about the resellers. If enough people complain they might do something.

Just don't buy a Nintendo switch I guess and let the hoarders buy them untill they can't no more and after buy one off ebay or wherever they sell them brand new for less than retail. You save money and they regret their decisions easy as that. I can't imagine anyone dying for a Nintendo Switch to be honest, even so, just wait, this stupid trend will die in a few weeks, that is if demand decreases and people don't desperately buy a switch for 2 times retail or even more.

I mean I might buy a Switch myself from those hoarders, that is at less than retail after the whole shortage ends.

Also anyway, there is the Switch Lite in stock if you really want to play Animal Crossing right now.

Yup. And Nintendo said that production has been ramped up. So very soon, you'll have Switch everywhere again.

I mean if one doesn't have a Switch so far, and now they want one, they waited 3 years, they can wait 2-3 more weeks

That coder sounds like the type of person that is eager to watch the world burn. Given that code is considered free speech, legal recourse against the coder is nonexistent. Extremely unethical, but legal.

Perhaps, or he/she is highlighting a flaw in the system, which perhaps Amazon and other online retailers can make a security system. I mean, while they enjoy the money they are getting from it, if this kind of thing happens on many products, these online retailers will loose a lot of customers. In the case of Amazon, loosing on their lucrative Amazon Prime memberships.

Retailers can definitely put measures into place to prevent mass purchasing. Not sure why Amazon isn’t limiting quantities. They already have the infrastructure to do so.

Sociopaths are highly successful. So much so that nature favors them in terms of evolution. For evidence, please look up the percentage of them in leadership positions such as CxOs and and politicians (regardless of ideology). The reptiles among us never lost their lizard brain, only their scales.

But yes, Amazon could do their part by enforcing a one purchase per account with a priority of inventory given to pre-existing members (to prevent sock-puppet accounts created in nth hour).
