Comcast will buy Time Warner Cable for $45.2 billion

Poohy14

As part of the deal, Comcast will acquire Time Warner Cable's approximately 11 million subscribers, and Time Warner Cable will combine its products and services with those offered by Comcast. "This combination creates a company that delivers maximum value for our shareholders, enormous opportunities for our employees and a superior experience for our customers," said Robert D. Marcus, chairman and CEO of Time Warner Cable. "Comcast and Time Warner Cable have been the leaders in all of the industry's most important innovations."

I personally think that this is a terrible idea since there wont me much competition and the prices for internet and tv will go up. I hope the Senate doesn't pass this at all or we are all doomed.

Wonder how this monopoly was able happen?

Through 'legal' BRIBES, millions of dollars in bribes to those who are there to 'protect' the Citizens of America.

If you think there's freedom or equal oppotunity in America, you really need to wake up and smell the bribes!

You should all come to New Hampshire, I have fibre and an ISP who doesn't throttle.

Also, no wonder Comcast wasn't upgrading its services. They were preparing to spend a whole lot of money, whether in cash or in reduction of their op-ex to satisfy whoever loaned them money.

I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason and intellect has intended us to forgo their use, and by some other means to give us knowledge which we can attain by them. - Galileo Galilei

If it's a choice between one ISP and an Internet turned into a government regulated (and subsequently censored) utility, this American will take the one ISP every time.

Net neutrality sounds great on paper.  The problem will be the fine print attached to it.

I really hope they decide to not change anything in Hawaii. Paying for 30 but getting 60 with Time Warner
