Good deal for a motherboard?

Background: I’ve replaced everything from my prebuilt IBuyPower PC except the cpu (8700K) and motherboard and I found out recently my motherboard is a pretty cheap MSI Z370-A Pro (bottom of tier list) so I’ve wanted to replace it.

Ive kept my eye on this motherboard on Newegg and Amazon for quite a while

(2-3 months) and it’s normally priced at $289.99 on both sites. Occasionally I’ve seen it on sale for $259.99.

Today it’s on sale on one of their deals and it’s lower priced than I’ve ever seen it. I’ve seen it at $239 before but now it’s at $239 with a $20 MIR bringing the price down to $219 total.

Should I pull the trigger?

I am an overclocker who overclocks everything I can and I’d like a better, higher quality motherboard as well as one that has more than 1 m.2 slot and this one seems to fit the criteria.

Does anyone know if this is a good motherboard from personal experience or trusted reviews and is it worth buying at $219?

I just pulled the trigger. ?

I’ve been watching it every day for months to find a good price and the lowest I saw ever was $259.99 so $219.99 seems like a steal!

I mean the MEG ACE is a Tier A board and it’s only like $50 more than boards that are much worse. Heck I think my crappy z370a pro was like $150.

Not sure replacing your motherboard to keep running the same chip was the best use of over $200.

Granted, you better be able to run that 8700K at 5GHz on all cores.

Least you know not to buy a prebuilt again.

Well actually I only bought a prebuilt because I needed a computer in April 2018.

Back then GPU prices were WAY overinflated due to cryptocurrency miners driving up demand and reducing supply and the only way I could get a decent build was by buying prebuilt.

It was more out of necessity than my choice to buy prebuilt.

P.S. I didn’t do it just for the CPU. I also wanted a mobo that could handle more than 1x NVMe drive and i should get better RAM overclocks too.

Plus as a bonus I can give my dad this old one since his PC is still running, and I kid you not, DDR2, yes DDR2, RAM.

Lol, doubt your dad even cares.  My old man just asked me to recommend a new Chromebook, under $150.  Watching the news on his PC doesn't take much.

No worries, enjoy the machine and the higher clocks.

That’s true ?, but still I’m sure he’ll appreciate the mobo, ssd and ram as if anything it’ll speed up his boot times.
