my HP laptop is a bit a bit slow and laggy, what do I do?

these are the hp specs, 

• Intel Coreᵀᴹ i3-7100U Processor 
• 15.6 diagonal HD SVA BrightView display
• 4 GB DDR4 system memory
• 1 TB Hard drive storage
• model: 6UY82UA#ABA
• HP 15-bs031wm

I'm not sure what to do, do I upgrade, get a better computer, or reinstall windows 10?

Seems to be pretty old... 

 

You either add 4GB RAM or return this / get a more modern system 

Actually, checking requirements I'm not sure adding more RAM would actually help,  it's just an old and slow laptop I guess... Adding a SSD as boot drive might help tho.

This is the problem:

 

You can swap this for an SSD (like the MX500 or similar) and speed it up already. Personally I would say 8GB RAM is a minimum too.

But that is 80-140 USD you have to invest in the machine, which it is up to you if that is exactly worth it for an i3 7100U.

storage is HDD

RAM utilization is 3.5 GB

I completely agree with @minibois You need faster drive and more RAM. Any modern system needs at least 8 gigs of RAM and an SSD.

Well,  I don't,  but I'd suggest just make a thread asking what you should get.
