  1. I saw this PSU on Amazon. I'm not planning on buying it because of lack of info. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CXXM5QC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_H5GJFb3RGC2VY One thing made me curious though. One of the features listed is "Stable Output: the dc-dc circuit design offers your system more reliable and stable output voltages, providing more consistent power delivery" According to the pictures though it has 588w on the 12v rail. I've never seen a dc-dc psu with less than the full wattage on the 12v rail. Are they just lying?
  2. this guy wrote a bot to artificially bid up prices on scalped 3080s on eBay https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/geforce-graphics-cards/5/398094/i-wrote-a-bot-to-inflate-scalper-prices-with-no-in/ I saw some of them going fo thousands of dollars and I couldn't figure out why
  3. What is the availability of used office machines like the optiplex where you are? I see them on amazon.de but they are probably better priced locally This: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B087QCWKNM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_t1_jhNyFbCYS7SPG Plus this: https://www.amazon.de/GIGABYTE-GeForce-Profile-Grafikkarte-GV-N1656OC-4GL/dp/B087R7V2Q6/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=1650+low+profile+gddr6&qid=1600287607&sprefix=1650+low+profile&sr=8-2 Will give you much better gaming performance than an APU. But you will sacrifice upgradability
  4. I'm not really familiar with prices and availability in your country. Hopefully someone on the forum can help
  5. Total budget? Where do you live?
  6. I dont have a specific laptop to suggest but here is a good resource: https://www.reddit.com/r/LaptopDeals?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
  7. No it's not. Is it more likely to to damage his components than a quality PSU would ?Yes. Would I put that PSU in a system I cared about? No. But saying that it is highly likely to burn out his components is alarmist. It may degrade his components faster than a quality unit but it is unlikely to actually blow up. OP, you spent a lot of money on your PC and are thinking about spending another $350 to $400 on a graphics card. Sell your PSU locally and get a quality unit. PSU prices are crazy right now but the extra $50 that you spend on a quality u
  8. I build PCs as a hobby and then I sell them. I would buy a few.
  9. I just saw these Corsair PSUs on Newegg. They are from a 3rd party seller named Lucas. They say "new arival" and they ship from china. https://www.newegg.com/corsair-cx-series-cx450-450w/p/N82E16817139201 https://www.newegg.com/corsair-cx-series-cx550-550w/p/N82E16817139202?item=9SIAR3SC2J8757 Are counterfeit PSUs a thing? @jonnyGURU is there a way to know if this is an authorized reseller?
  10. Most people don't know any better. They go on Amazon, see that the Thermaltake smart 500 w is the #1 best seller.l, has 2600 4.5* reviews and just buy it. And all of those $500! $400! $200! Build guides on you tube all use it also.
  11. Its the one part of the PC where you can't actually feel a tangible difference.... until it blows up
  12. it seems like every other post is asking what PSU to buy for the 3070/3080. Can we just have one post with suggestions and make it a sticky? Please?
  13. It should work, but if I were you I would sink anymore money into that system. Its ancient at this point
