No offence but mulitple people at the start told you what to do. They listed a cmd in the cmd line you could use or you go to the settings and look in activation. Trust me, YOU WOULD KNOW if Windows was not activated. If it was a pirated copy it would be a good chance that now or in the future Windows would unactivate. Besides the loss some of the desktop personaizaiton you would also have a water mark bitching at you to activate Windows.

Futher more if you bought from a reputable company then they probably preinsalled windows like they have done since the begining of time. Microsoft sells OEM copies to makers like Dell, HP and such at a slight discount. These generally come preinstalled and activated from what I have seen.

How to know my windows 10 is original or pirated

launch command prompt and type

slmgr /dli

Or, you know, just go to settings and take a look at activation.

If you discover it is pirated, then frankly there's larger issues at play.  If you just bought a new laptop, it would never come in such a state from any reputable company.  You'd want to contact them about that, and possibly contact Microsoft too depending on how that goes.  You'd also want to format the machine immediately because there's no telling what malware they may have planted.

It would be really odd to have laptop with pirated or cracked OS. Laptops mainly come with preinstalled and preactivated OS. Some very low budget options come without oS so you can install Linux there.

I don't think theres a reason anyone needs to use pirated windows 10 as the OS is already free from microsoft.

Its not technically free. Yes you can run it unactivated with some features turned off, but technically you are suppose to pay for it.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Strictly speaking it's not free, but you can either run it unactivated or do a free upgrade from previous versions that virtually everyone already has, so for all intents and purposes it almost is free.

It's not free, but it's "free with the computer" since every laptop sold by any major brand will come with a Windows license built-in, so there's no reason it would not be legit.

The answer is that generally a Windows install is a windows install, and it would be very hard to tell if its "pirated".

But what makes the Windows genuine or not, is the activation.

Either it has a valid OEM or Retail key, or its being activated using something like KMSpico which fakes VLK activation to a KMS server.

You can check by running 'slmgr.vbs /dlv' from Run/Command Prompt to see what type of activation and key it is.

Basically its either Activated or its Not, and its either using a Genuine Key or a Volume Licensing Key (which will be listed as GVLK in SLMgr)
