    • -2 anti-RGB, this cursed trend conflicts with my belief and i would do anything to get rid of it from my life, even if it means to spending extra money or effort to do so.

    • -1 negative, i don't like RGB, it's a light pollution. I prefer products with muted look that goes well with other colours. altho if a product is good enough but with RGB, i'm still buying it.
      15
    • 0 neutral, i don't care about it, it never bothers me. i would buy anything with right price and function.

    • +1 favour, i care about the look department and RGB is a mean to express myself. would like to spend extra for RBG, altho i can accept compromises.
      12
    • +2 all in, i don't care what others say, would buy anything with RBG blings. i don't mind my SSD overheating as soon as it has RGB.

is it still RGB when you only really have two shades of G?

not really.

here's a few examples: i bought Corsairs's SE contrast RAM because the white color matched my system. it came with white LED's. granted, not RGB, but i also cannot turn these off.

i wanted the smallest mATX case to still accomodate normal components. i got the white InWin 301 because it is simply the only case in this formfactor readily available at the time. it sadly has a large diffused blue LED in the front.

if i think harder i can probably get you more, but this is the point i'm trying to make. all semi-decent components have this stuff. i resorted to just not plugging in my case LED, but that still leaves me with a large blue sheet of plastic in the front. "just turning the LEDs off" leaves you with basically unsightly logo's in the best scenarios.

it is true that non-RGB models are available, but they are few and far between. and when you want to build a high-end system you are pretty much damned to RGB.

That's a personal choice. Even from Corsair, you could have gone with the LPX memory (also comes in white), and Crucial Ballistix also comes in white. I'm sure there also other modules that come in white with no RGB. You chose to go with that set from Corsair.

I won't bother going into the dozens of other white cases that are available out there. You had choice, you chose to go with the one with the LED on the front.

1- here, I don’t seek it out but if I’m buying something and it has some RGB accents I won’t say no if it comes in at a lower price than its non RGB counterpart. I do however draw the line at RGB fans. Their prices are horribly inflated and you’re paying more and getting no performance advantage in return.

you fail to see what i'm trying to explain. we are going off topic here, so this is my last post trying to make it clear to you:

the case was, and maybe still is the ONLY white case in this formfactor that is readily available. yes there are other white mATX cases. yes they are all bigger by a lot.

when i got the RAM, Corsair made no LPX or other RAM in 3466. out of the box. they also didn't make any white Dominator Platinum except for these. sure, it's a niche, but i wanted plats.

i'm not trying to make this a big argument, but i really cannot explain it any better. RGB is not a choice "you can just turn off" or something. we as consumers are forced into it in pretty much everything except server gear.

don't care if it has light or not, as long as it works as intended at performance/price

i mean, sure why not

I buy what works best for the given task within my budget ?‍♂️

My RAM is RGB, because basically all decent RAM is.

My case is not windowed, but you can kinda see it through the mesh. I would disable it, but Mystic Sync is as broken as it usually is and I can't.

EDIT: Aura Sync decided it wanted to control the RAM at some point. LED's are now off.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)
