Should I be worried about buying it for my 3080 + 3700X instead of the SX700-PT?

I don't know, again, it's a new platform, i've never seen it before. The only review of a unit on it i found is this one but i wouldn't call it thorough at all and iXBT reviews in general were proven to be inaccurate. I doubt tho it's a bomb or smth, just try if it works or not, if yes - keep it. How much you paid for it ?

Oooo-o-oh. Not USA i guess ? Because, in USA, i bet you could buy Corsair SF750 Platinum for that price ...

In the USA, the SF750 Platinum is $184.99. Not to mention it's impossible to find anywhere

Fair enough, still, i'd probably better get SF600 or 650W EVGA GM / FD ION SFX ...

For a 3080? I've seen it work but I prefer to match Nvidia's requirement.

I have an SX700-PT right now, and was planning on returning it when the SX750-PT shipped. I should be okay right? I doubt that Silverstone would make a bad unit as the highest end one in the SX-PT lineup. That would kill their chance of competing against the SF750 most likely.

I wonder when reviews will come out lol

Probably never, Silverstone has very diluted product stack and i haven't seen any Silverstone reviews from Aris in ages.

I mean, the only reason why nVidia recommends 750W (even though some 750W units still don't work) is to try to accommodate for transient power draw peaks. If 600W unit works then it's completely fine.

Did the SX700-PT have reviews? Based on what you've seen do you have any expectations for the SX750-PT?

@cowffee yeah I know it's different, I'm wondering if the OEM has a reputation for making good or bad PSUs. Obviously can't just a unit by that, but it could give at least a slight idea

Not from Aris. Some reviews we do have are decent but lack more in-depth stuff like protection tests like Aris does.

Enhance is usually at least decent, i don't expect it to be a bomb.

Ok good, so I'll try it with my 3080. If it doesn't work I'll try for an SF750 or such

@LukeSavenije Hello, I'd like to ask if the Seasonic Focus GM 80+ Gold is part of the issued footnotes below:

[1] Units experiencing tripping issues with high transient power draw GPUs like AMD Vega and high-end nVidia Ampere. Includes Seasonic Focus based units made prior to Jan 2018, source.

Seasonic | Focus GX / GM / PX [1] / SGX - Prime Gold / Platinum / Titanium / Fanless PX / Fanless TX / Snow Silent (Gold / Platinum / Titanium) / Airtouch - Connect

Does this mean that only Seasonic Focus PX is the one being mentioned here or is it all three (Focus GX / GM / PX)? Also, does this mean that if a Focus GM unit is made prior to Jan 2018, it'll have the tripping issue?

Sorry for the stupid question and thanks for the great list! :)

Only PX, since Focus Plus Platinum had PX model suffix too just as the new OneSeasonic revision which is called just Seasonic Focus PX, whereas GX was Focus Plus Gold (FX) and GM was Focus Gold (FM).

@Juular Thanks so much for your reply! :) I'm almost set to buying the Focus GM but I have one last question if you may.

Since you mentioned that the Focus GM "was" the Focus Plus Gold, this means that these PSUs are newer and doesn't have the tripping issues with GPUs anymore right? I googled it but I can't find any official release date aside from the Amazon listing which says it was first available on Feb. 14, 2020.

Yes, Focus GX, GM and PX (just PX, not Plus Platinum) don't have these issues. Note that these new revisions still have FX, FM, PX suffixes in the model number, i.e Focus GX is called GX on the box but model number on the side of the box or on the PSU label will still be SSR-[W]FX.

I'm talking about OCP on minor rails, i.e 5V and 3.3V, not OPP.

That's a different OVP, if you look at the datasheet, it's set to 29V. They could've used a doubler for this feedback but i wouldn't rely on that, and we're still missing UVP.

Maybe they're afraid to disappoint their loyal fans ?

There is GR8313 chip responsible for UVP/OVP protection https://pdf1.alldatasheet.pl/datasheet-pdf/view/1132316/GRENERGY/GR8313.html
No one really cares much about 5/3.3V rails nowadays, unit passes all stress tests on 100% load or even more, also cross-load, without any problems at all.
Why would Seasonic hide anything? It's a very affordable psu and you just can't prove otherwise except making up fairy tales.

We seem to be going in circles ... Yes, this unit has GR8313 supervisor, it has UVP & OVP on minor rails only, not on 12V, or at least i'm not getting how it's supposed to work when it doesn't have a pin for 12V, it has VCC pin but it's 4.5~15V. And again, there are no OCP altogether, neither on minor rails nor on 12V. OPP is not enough. As of our methodology, OCP is required on minor rails and OVP/UVP is required on all rails for tier C units and up, thus, it stays in tier D whether there's Seasonic mentioned on it's label somewhere or not, unless we'll see a review with at least OCP tests on minor rails. We'll try to contact Aris about that i guess, they to have tested it but it didn't end-up in review.

As soon as there will be some reviews, or at the very least a teardown.
