How to attach a power strip to the side of a drawer without making any holes

Hello,

 

I have a 4-port power strip that I want to hang on the side of my wooden Alex drawer. I tried using Extremely Strong Scotch Mounting tape(yes it's called that) but it keeps peeling off because it's either too thick(wide) or too heavy or both(strip is ~4lbs) Also the power cable is attached lower as well so there's additional force pulling it down

 

Is there any way for me to do this without having to resort to drilling holes in the side?

Have you tried hook-and-loop tape?  Also, are you trying to mount it horizontally or vertically? If you can go vertical, that would be better for the hook-and-loop tape.

 

Velcro brand is most popular, but I like the 3M stuff I use at work.

Have you tried using gorrila mounting adhesive or T-rex mounting tape? It's clear and pliable and can hold 30 lbs

Any kind of industrial strength double sided tape should do the trick. Someone else already mentioned Gorilla tape. 3M double sided adhesive tape is also excellent. We use it all the time to mount power bars at work. 
 

The black tape is the strongest, grey is middle strength, and clear is the weakest - but in our experience, all 3 are very strong. 
 

Gorilla mounting tape (the clear stuff) is about the same as the grey 3M tape.

3M Dual Lock tape. The stick is pretty much VHB and the "velcro" part is very secure. We used it to stick down all of our electronics in some airplanes.

A clean surface is vital for any kind of tape. As long as it won't damage the finish, 90% + IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol, not India Pale Ale) is excellent for degeasing a surface.
