I use the ATR2100 because it gives me both XLR and USB so I have 1 into my capture PC and 1 to my gaming PC to use simultaneously.

Blue Snowball. I used to make youtube videos and didn't have the money or knowhow for an XLR setup so USB worked fine. Now just use it for gaming but it's better than most of my friends and other than the logo being upside down, it looks pretty good on my desk

Røde NT-USB.  A bit overkill for that one Skype call every 2 weeks, but when I eventually decide to take over the hitparades at least I'll have proper gear already.

Snowball ICE, works really well for playing games and talking over discord. Used to have it on an arm made from a lamp but i dont have the arm anymore and its just standing on the regular tripod stand it comes with now. Its sturdier than i imagined, that DIY arm dropped it a couple of times and it survived falling one and a half meters and bouncing away across my floor a few times with no damage

Blue Snowball Ice. Because it's cheap and I'm lazy. Idc so much about video calls, but having a somewhat decent mic makes a big difference when you're in a VC.

Dude you have a pro setup there hardcore audiophile.  OP.  Does he really wanna spend all that money this sh*T costs a lot.  OP you can use web cam audio also if you have a gaming headset your fine with it.  Sure its not the setup Lerry has but its good enough and clear.

Don't actually have a microphone RN, but at work (i master audio) we use Neumann TLM103's.

Ya that is what I was confused about.  Sorry about that confusion.  Well I can def testify about SHURE mics ,, even 99 dollar mic and its solid gear.  What is your budget.  I like the audio-technica's but don't have experience with them.  SHURE makes really good mics.  Just tell us the most your willing to spend and well you a perfect vocal mic and what not.

USB logtech rock band mic (free picked it up before some one moved away) with pop fillter sounds surprisingly good using it with obs

I'm getting "-200" errors when I try to upload images, so I'll have to punt on that.

 

• For recording my voice as well as gaming/comms: Rode Broadcaster on a Rode arm.
• For meetings/teleconferences/etc, I have a Shure GLXD4 receiver (XLR'd into the same mixer), along with a Shure wireless transmitter clipped to my belt and one of their lav mics on my t-shirt collar.  That way I can pace around during meetings if need be.

Also I sometimes use it to record angry Wookie sounds that might be considered vocals by a few people.

MMmmm, that's the good stuff. One day I'd like to own a Neumann M149-or really any of their "costs as much as a used car" products.

I love neumann stuff, We used to use Rode microphones but i pointed out a set of a bunch of these for cheap, and we jumped on them. Really nice to use.
