Even though i dont really see any issues in your video, I heard the game does not have the best optimization.
Maybe you gotta go for a real fullscreen solution if you somehow can achieve that.
Borderless may be convenient but not a real fullscreen thing and in some games causes troubles.

Otherwise maybe reducing the graphic settings helps.

Greetings

Greetings

i know but i got this issue in alot of games and its not about reducing graphics settings since an rx 480 should be able to do enter the gungeon with 0 problems and i know that borderless aint real fullscreen but alot of games doesnt have real fullscreen so when using alt + enter it just switches between windowed and borderless in some games here is someone with a simular issue but he got nvidia https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/certain-games-feel-like-theyre-stuttering-low-fps-even-with-high-fps-in-windowed-borderless-mode.3300778/?view=date but i dont know if he solved it or how he solved it

Your hardware should be enough to do it at the right settings...so...i can suggest a graphics driver reinstall maybe.

Still think it's software related, try running the games with the integrated graphics of the cpu, see if it still "lags". If not I guess it is some kind of driver issue.

Cpu bottlenecking? Temps ? Driver .

That's the only things I can currently think are a reason.

if u look at latest video thats not cpu  bottlenecking since its just running a rx 480 with 6600k at 4.4ghz and tomb raider is a gpu demanding game temps are good brand new cooling paste changed a couple days ago

Border-less and Windowed Mode (or one of the two...don't remember) throws the drivers off.

It will cause the GPU to get stuck in the idle / 2D frequency profile, and not let it run at full 3D speeds.

That or it will continuously toggled between 2D and 3D.

I remember looking into this a couple years back -- I could literally see my GPUs running at 1/2 GPU Core speed.

Hence, why it is recommended to run at Full Screen whenever possible.

It's possible to have high FPS and still have "lag" usually in the form of frame stuttering, or Microstutters.

Yes, high FPS,  but your frame times can be spiking frequently.

What are you using to measure FPS?

Are you reading average FPS, or are you checking the minimums, maximums, etc?

Also, use a monitoring tool that can log GPU Core frequency, Memory frequency, and GPU usage.

See if it it is constantly going up and down (e.g. unstable).

core and everything is stable i used steam overlay to measure the fps before and it was stable fps all the time but the games felt slower overall im thinking of checking with fraps or something

MSi Afterbrurner, GPU-Z can actually LOG this -- you can see it in a graph, and write it to a .txt file.

Steam overlay FPS is only the current / instantaneous FPS.

Again, it would be good if you can actually log it.

spikes in frame time...might now show up in the overlay readout... if it's a sudden spikes...say...steady 60FPS with 1/80th of a second dips to 30 ~ 40 FPS.

show what you have your settings set to... also this article says when you switch you settings after the game is launched it can cause problems... So try setting up those settings pre-launch and see if you still experience a problem with FPS.

All of the options can be configured before launching the game, or while running the game itself. We recommend setting the fullscreen setting, the resolution, and the anti-aliasing mode before launching the game. Resetting things like resolution in the game will cause the video driver to reset, which can cause problems with some setups.

Hmm...are you able to upload an MSi Afterburner log here?

Usage, clock speed, framerate, frametime.

You need to enable frametime in the Afterburner settings -- it is not enabled by default.
