How to Fake or Create Virtual CPU Cores or Threads on Windows

Is there any way to fake at least threads or create virtual ones? Same for cpu cores

As far as I know, no there isn't.

You can change the CPU information through registry but I don't know about faking threads... might want photoshop if you wanna fool someone.

Because i see no benefit in doing so other than deceiving.

You can if you can figure out how to screw with what the CPUID information on the processor itself returns. For example this is how Intel does it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CPUID#EAX=4_and_EAX=Bh:_Intel_thread/core_and_cache_topology

Bet on your luck on getting a CPU that's not cut down properly and still works as a full processor

This reminds me of unlocking GPU pipes way back in the old days.  And crossing your fingers that you didn't get artifacts.

Rainbow six siege doesn't support dual core now and apparently my quad core i5 3470. I been trying literally everything to find a solution

Please tell more, I know that select RX480 4gb you could unlock 4 additional gb because the locked it down, I think it was mostly MSI who did it

you disabled cores in the bios? Because R6S definitely runs on 4 cores. Heck even oddball AMD tri-core works.

 

Workarounds for dual cores tweak the game itself, not the hardware

I reported to ubisoft and got directed to the right team for a reply asap and they are taking a bit too long I think they need to patch the whole game for a fix

Would you mind telling me what program I would need to do this? I read somewhere that all LGA 775 CPUs are capable of hyperthreading but it's disabled because Intel was already working on Westmere and Bloomfield. Man, a Q9400 or Q9550 would kick mad ass with HT, even matching some second generation i5s.

Sorry about my spelling sometimes. My $1200 laptop has a $2 keyboard.
