Seems like the easiest way for most people to help out is in the Marathon.

 

This involves downloading BOINC, selecting the "World Community Grid" project, and then selecting the sub-project "OpenZIKA".

 

1. Download + Install BOINC (https://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php) 

2. Open BOINC and click "Add Project"

3. Select the "World Community Grid" project, and then click on their website url. (https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/discover.action)

4. On their Website, click "Join Now" at the top left or right depending. Enter your information and Register.

5. Once presented with the Sub project selection, choose "OpenZIKA" and click next. It will download a program, but you don't need it.

 

6. Go back to the BOINC app and click "Next >". Login with the World Community Grid account that you just signed up for.

 

Your BOINC app will now benchmark your system, and then start running. 

 

BUT, you still need to set your team to the LTT forum one.

 

7. Navigate to the team selection page, and login if you aren't already (https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/team/viewMyTeam.do)

8. Type in "LinusTechTips" in the "Contains:" field.

9. Click on the "LinusTechTips_Team" result that shows up. Once the page loads click "Join Team".

 

You will now be BOINCing for the LTT team :D

 

This is the easiest way to help out the cause, but there are more beneficial / advanced ways to do so if you're interested. Refer to the OP for more information.

I'm seeing the same results as you so it isn't just you. Yo-yo has been running for about the past 14 hours and I've only gotten 3.7K points. It's a much harder task than OpenZika.

I'm seeing the same results as you so it isn't just you. Yo-yo has been running for about the past 14 hours and I've only gotten 3.7K points. It's a much harder task than OpenZika.

Yeah, yoyo does NOT like ryzen chips...

That's odd the global top host is a TR 2990WX, must be a sub group in yoyo that works well for it. Must be optimization settings that you kind of need to be in the know to get the best performance.

I think its a windows and yoyo think tbh, 

 

My specs are: r7 1700 @3.75Ghz

 

16BG dominator platinum @ 3400

 

I just dont have the time to test out the different projects and swap OSs

Top host is also running Windows 10, go figure considering the problems with the 2990WX and Windows. Seriously has to be something to it to get these high numbers for avg credit.

Also, for those of you that dont know our rivals last year was AMD users and Crunching@EVGA were our rivals last year, there is significantly less trash talk this though, shame really.

Been looking at other teams stats, it seems like quite a few have been shifting power over to yoyo and NFS.

 

We are not really bothering with NFS so leave them to it I say.

 

There does seem to be some missing power in many of the teams by my calculations, I'm guessing they are bunkering for Einstein. 

 

We are looking like we can move up two places in the marathon if all continues the same in around 8-8.5 days. Its unlikely to stay the same though and as NFS and yoyo wind down we are likely to see a ramp up in the marathon, just something to keep your eyes on.

It does also seem that we have a pretty good production level for Einstein anyway, lets  hope this helps.
