Anyone remember Linus Tech Tips?

In all seriousness, what does everyone think of the gradual change from it being Linus making videos to less and less Linus? (I know his recent vacation brought a lot of this change).

Chances are these are the videos they recorded during Linus's vacation. Besides.. never hurts to have variety in hosts to freshen things up every now and then.

Yeah I don't mind it too much either. My only slight gripe is that James seems to be over saturating the channel ATM. All the other writer's/presenters I like, but his brogrammer personality just irks me. It feels like he's trying to be the new Luke...which he could never do.

 

Bring back Original Luke I say!

Riley's A-OK with teleprompter reading (newslike), although the past few videos featuring him kinda shows issues with carrying/presenting technical info from memory

Maybe he is. Personally, I prefer Riley's presenting style and when it comes to presenting technical info, Alex and Anthony are the best.

 

If they're going to switch tact, I'd prefer Riley as the presenter/funny man and Alex/Anthony giving the technical info that Riley isn't strong with.

 

Either that or you know...Linus make more videos.

i would say he has a bit of Wendell's vibe, but his attempt on Lawrence Fishburne set him apart, LOL

 

Alex feels like he could use someone to bounce questions onto him, but he knows what he's doing (in literal terms)

That's why I feel a combo of Riley and Alex/Anthony would be the best way forward.

I don't mind different faces on LTT. These guys write the shows, and from my experience as a script writer there is nothing more infuriating than having somebody else not do justice to my work.

 

If I write a joke that requires a character based delivery, but the guy who ends up reading my script doesn't have that character, the joke is gonna fall flat.

 

If I were a betting man, I would say the writers are very happy with being in more videos for this very reason. There is nothing more painful than watching somebody else mince your work.

Of the people that is on camera, I like Alex the best, but I think he fits best together with someone else.

 

Then again, I don't think he have actually been in a video alone that I can remember?

They could hire actual presenters. Having writers or camera people in front of camera is awkward enough. At least burn them in in WAN.

Alex is my favorite and James my least.  Linus is pretty high up there too, along with Riley.  For some reason when James hosts, I get this sudden urge to punch my monitor... I'm sure he's a nice guy IRL but how he presents himself on camera drives me mad.

I enjoy all of them.  It is good for other people to get a chance to present.  I actually like WAN more when Linus is not on; they tend to get into the Analysis and News part for longer.

the move to new staffmembers hosting was inevatable. its only healthy for them to do this sort of thing.
