All right here me out for this

what if Linus made an overkill water cooling setup with like 4 480mm radiators, a 400mm reservoir, and a Maximus XI Formula all to cool just a Core i3 8350K running integrated graphics.

Man with the money you spend you can buy a new CPU and not overdue the liquid cooling.

No, I definitely don't have that money that's just like a video idea I had that I though would be funny

I think the limiting factor would be the thermal interface between the cpu and the block even if they used liquid metal the water is still ambient temperature so the temps would climb faster than they cool at extreme voltages before any major overclocking leaps were made.

no, it was a high end chip and he already managed to get close to ambient temp.

theres no point considering a i3, especially this i3 is one of the worst value chip of all time

I once got real interested in trying to get the best out of ancient CPU's, shit like the anthlon 1800xp  just for shits and giggles.  There's no real point to it though.

The limiting factor in any of these types of builds is going to be ambient temperature.

Produce as little heat as you like, ambient is as low as your going.

Im curious why people don't google this stuff first - its like the episode on South Park...if Linus aint done it...SIMPSONS DID IT (see also Jayztwocents)

Jayz loop, on the GPU and CPU with a BOX fan on 4x480 kept like 2c above ambient at max load.  Been there done that.

Yesterday it was - PC with radiator cooled by fridge - I literally just googled that and...SIMPSONS DID IT

Or are people into a fetish with Linus and just want to see him do it?

Yeah, the vids they do are nothing really new.  Hence, I don't really bother watching those vids.

The crazy chaps over on OCN, TPU, etc. have done many nutty setups and still do crazy stuff that have me going.....wtf.....is that thing?

A case in point, this from a chap over on OCN doing a full system TEC cooling setup:

From the post itself:

ok, so after 6 builds, and 170 pages, I have a final build. this is where I am at so far, I am currently using 12 TEC's for a total of 1740watts of TEC cooling. all the TEC's will be water cooled, with a total of 24 CPU water blocks being used. I now have 12 radiators for this build, 6 radiators on the 331watt TEC's, and 6 radiators on the 224watt TEC's.
