Do I need to change mi PSU?

Hello there, this is my first time posting here, and hope i anyone can help me.

 

I built my first PC at the end of november with the parts below

I don't have any trouble with my build, but the only thing that is in my mind is the PSU.

I bought a 850W G2 80+ gold, i know that i dont need 850w, i knew it back then and i was fine with a 650W PSU, but i bought because it was cheaper at that time.

 

Some background: I'm from mexico, i bought almost all my PC parts from amazon and newegg, all was fine and already on the way or already in home but had a problem with tha PSU i first ordered, i had to rebuy it, and was out of stock at that moment, and the only thing i did was buy one with similar price, so the 850 was the option for me (around $74). Keep in mind that i had no other spare parts, was my first time building 1.

 

The thing is, do i need to change it for a 650w? I haven't a single problem all this time. The power bill? Not a major problem up to now. IDK if i should keep it, or change, in a future i was planning in some upgrades, but for now im ok with my PC.

The G2 is a great PSU per the "List", and having too much power isn't a bad thing necessarily, especially if it wasn't expensive.

 

Enjoy it, it's got a 10 year warranty on it too.  You're good.

There really is not a single point changing the PSU. Maybe 650W would bring you closer to that "50% best efficiency" crap, and is a bit safer in case of a short, your power bill is literally almost unaffected by it, and your chances of your PSU shorting are astronomically low.

Just know that oversizing your power supply isn't going to draw more wattage from the wall. The PSU will only draw what it needs up to the rated amount.

g2 is a pretty okay superflower leadex, it's the g3 that has the opp problems.

 

go ahead and enjoy your psu, it's hella overkill, but that's about it

There's absolutely nothing wrong in using the PSU you own.

Still don't understand, the G3 is fine unless you might have a load, i.e. a 300W system should be fine on a 650G3, becuase if theres a short, any level of OCP/OPP will trigger, and theres basically no chance that something will pull in between 650-800W constantly.

it was modified by evga to make it shorter than the leadex 2 it's based on. because they changed the input filter, it had problems on the opp, which could probably be fixed by manually changing the trigger point. yet i don't really trust it myself
