its really nice to have a large screen and once you gone for bigger screen you cant go back.

the samsung note size 5.5~5.7" seems alright for me, also comfortable to read.

(I have seen people put a 7" tablet in his pocket...)

At least one of my thumb needs to cover half the surface of the screen when holding the device with a single hand. My LG V20 is just as big as it could be without making it uncomfortable

I agree with this. For me its more of a matter of too small - my thumb fully reaches over my iPhone 7. It can make for uncomfortable typing

Large display is always a bonus for me, though I'm not sure exactly where I draw the line. I've got an 8.4" tablet that I do consider too large, but my 6"  and I might be happy with some still slightly bigger.

For a comfortable single hand usage 4,5' is it, I've OP6 and to reach upper and lower right corners, I have to move phone in my hand, which is not comfortable. on the other hand bigger is better since I usually use both hands while operating my phone and the narrowness of the 1080x2280 (6.28") screen isn't a plus for that, 7' 16:9 tablet would be good to use vertically and horizontally, on a 10,1' tablet reaching the middle of the keyboard in horizontal mode wasn't very comfortable, though I got keyboard that was closer to screen sides and used it that way.

So... too big is a phone that doesn't fit my pockets and currently I'm at the verge of it's size being uncomfortable, so I'd put max at 6,5', but if you gave me a super great 7' phone for a very low price, I'd get it anyway.

I wouldn't want more than a 5.5inch diagonal phone.

This information doesn't say anythnig about the phone size.

To make that visual: http://j.mp/2VxW8HX

iPhone 8 Plus has a 5,5" Screen, but thanks to huge bezels it's still bigger than a 6,41" Oneplus 6T.

Would a 5.5" iPhone 8 Plus be okay in size, but a smaller 6,41" Oneplus 6T would be too big?

Phone sizes with different aspect ratios (16:9 vs. 18:9 vs. 19,5:9 vs. even 21:9 (new sony phones)) can NOT be compared at all - even less with differenz bezel sizes.

@ Topic: i'm using a Oneplus 6T (S3 -> HTC One M8 -> S7 Edge -> Oneplus 6T), and i'm fine with the size. It could be better useable if it were smaller, but then it would also... be smaller. smaller screen, smalelr content etc. i'm fine with it. Not sure, if it can be bigger... Might get used to it, maybe not.

What are you even saying? Mobile display size is measured diagonally. The question the OP asked was the size of the phone not the display. So for me a phone that is about 5 inches long.

Basically take the iPhone 8 Plus. My long fingers can use a phone that size pretty well. But anything bigger is too big.

Does it fit into a breast pocket (shirt or jacket) or a front pocket (jeans-pants-tights)? Then it's a phone.

Do you find yourself having trouble using it with one hand or finding an easily-retrievable place to store it while on-the-go? Then consider it a tablet.

In my opinion, it's anything larger than either of these 2 devices:

The Huawei Mate 20X @ 7.3 inches:

Or the Huawei Mate X @ 6.6 inches (8 inches unfolded):

you were talking about diagonal, NOT length.

Mobile Display size has NOTHING TO DO with the Phone's overall Size. I can't explain it easier than i already have... If you don't understand that, then i can't help you...

And of course, you meant Display diagonal size, and not phone size, since there is no phone out there, which has stated the phone's Body diagonal size.

What i'm saying is, again slowly for you: Diagonal size of the Display has nothing to do with phone size.

Even if you mean Body diagonal size, it depends on the formfactor -> your 5,5" doesn't really say anything about the size.

I wasn't talking about display size lmfao. I was talking about phone size. I calculated it so I could answer the OPs question. Stop assuming things, it just makes you look stupid. 5.5 says I want a small phone. About 5 x 2 feels about right to me.
