Friends trying to show off Tech

Kyuubixchidori

Another time I was showing my friend how to build a kickass PC so he wouldn't be scammed buying a prebuilt. He was pretty enthusiastic about not getting scammed but then several months he is bragging about his alienware.

Alienware make good computers, your friend Has gotten dEcent pc, such friendLy People too. They gave ME a nice chip to put in my brain.

ALL HAIL ALIENWARE!

Who needs ''wannabe tech-savvy'' friends nowadays? Or friends in general?   80sp.jpg

Actually, now that I'm in high school, surprisingly, no-one is trying to show-off anything tech related. There's only few tech-savvy students, but absolutely no-one tries to brag about stuff they don't understand, like tech. They seem to know their limits.

About former ''friends''... You know what xbox fanboys are like... Middle school had them for a while until they got their moped driving licences...

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

Some kid from my school tried to tell me that he has quad titans and a 3960x. He also told me he paid $3000 for it. I tried my hardest not to laugh.

It's not 500gb of ram. Not from 6 sticks (that are visible) not even from 30 sticks of ram.

But it's at least 24gb, which is a lot.

I really hope you didn't think I thought he had 500GB of ram..

People at my school think overclocking will kill your components. Idiots.

Others think that AMD CPUs are better than Intel CPUs

Overclocking can kill your components. It's not necessarily going to, but over time, stuff will more rapidly degrade because of it, possibly causing the death of it.

As for the second statement, assuming that you are an Intel fanboy due to the way you worded it, it's a completely false statement made worse by Intel's fan following. Take it from me, an Intel/NVIDIA guy. AMD CPUs are better than equivalently priced Intel CPUs at performing certain tasks that rely on the amount of cores rather than how powerful they are. For example, video editing and 3D rendering.

Who is the idiot here? I don't know. But it seems someone doesn't know what they are talking about.

From the quality of some people's posts recently, I don't know what to believe anymore.

I came back from a month long holiday and some people apparently just fell out of the stupid-tree and hit every branch on the way down.

24GB+ (I can't find that RAM anywhere on the net so I dunno size or speed) of a likely 2133mhz+ RAM runs you like $180 on a good sale for specific brands and models these days. I assume it's good RAM because there's 6+ sticks of it and it's pretty nice looking. I definitely wasn't being a derp about it, but obviously some assumptions had to be made :). No hard feelings, loving this morning's posts. Lots of uhm.. How would I put it, "debatable" discussions? occuring.

I have a friend who's parents think that their 7-year-old $1000 Mac can actually compete with anything today. My friend always complains that you can hardly turn it on anymore, and that it's so slow you can't even use it properly.

Something, something, something, famous quote, computer specs, and stuff...

I assume you never checked out that non-techies thread either? There are some doozies in there.

I was more-so referencing legitimate posts and discussions, not posting about 'non-techies.'

But yes, that topic is hilarious.
