Since it is an EK Supremecy, those have the same bolt pattern and are compatiable with the 1151 socket.

Ah, miss that part.

Very odd though...they show Supremacy blocks with 1151 compatiblity.  Front bracket looks the same by what I can tell.

Must be a different back plate that is required.

These seem to be the only backplates on their official site for sale now.

as i understand it the screw hole positions are different so i would need a 1151 mounting plate and yes a backplate as well

im just owndering if anything else is required. like if the srews somehow need to be changed as well (mounting pressure) or something

Unsure. What is adding a bit to my confusion is when a site like Performance PC shows the EVO model being 1151 compatible.

Probably the best thing to do is email EK directly.  They should be able to give you an answer on what exactly you need to get to use an older x99 2011-3 block on a 1151.

Ah, I found a thread on a different forum where an individual had the same issue.

Seems only two items are required:

The backplates that I already linked.

The precise mount kit: https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-supremacy-evo-precisemount-nickel

I looked at the front bracket of the new EVO and old EVO.  That plate looks the same by what I can tell.

Even EK's website does not show seperate front brackets.

but the x99 mounting plate has different screw positions than the 1151 mounting plate which has slits instead of of fix holes. right?

ohh shit so i understood you wrong you mean that there was an old X99 Block with variable screw positions? i didnt know that. anway th one im looking to get has fixed screws but already comes with an am4 backplate (shold be 1151 compatible) and the precise mount meaning the screws needed. i would only really need to get a different mounting plate and should be good to go i guess

Odd, I don't recall any fixed screw ones.

EK does sell that front bracket, so if the one you do get has fixed screws, the newer bracket should be able to be switch in.

Ek are pritty good at answering questions. I think ur best bet would be to contact them and simply ask. They may be able to source you a new mounting kit if needed.

EK Supremacy comes with different mounting hardware in the package,

5SfgNm4l.jpg.e0f45270280bdae3bc22b4d34aec561f.jpg

to mount it on X99 or X299 you use smaller "screws" which are screwed directly to the socket (on the left side of the picture) , to mount it onto 1155/1151 socket you have to use longer "screws" and a backplate. (bottom of the picture)

If the block you are buying comes with all original package and hardware you can mounted on any intel LGA socket starting from LGA 775

CPU: i7 8700K OC 5.0 gHz, Motherboard: Asus Maximus VIII Hero (Z170), RAM: 32gb Corsair Vengeance RGB 3200 mHz, GPU: Asus Strix OC gtx 1080ti, Storage: Samsung 950pro 500gb, samsung 860evo 500gb, 2x2Tb + 6Tb HDD,Case: Lian Li PC O11 dynamic, Cooling: Very custom loop.
