Ram reads as 32gb but is only 16gb

As title just upgraded my ram in my lenovo legion y730 from 8gb to 2 sticks of corsair vengence cmsx32gx4m2a2666c18. Tried swapping the two sticks around but same result. Pc works just fine.

might be a registry issue.

or you used download more ram

cmsx32g is 32gigs of ram.Probably 2x 16gb sticks.

Assuming you bought it from a legitimate distributor go into your BIOS. If it says 32768MB then you have 32GB of RAM my friend. Be happy something somewhere went wrong to your benefit. Unless double the money is missing from your bank account. Then you put the wrong thing in your shopping cart.

The kit you mention is a 2x16=32gb kit. If that's the one you bought, it should be 32gb. Maybe you got confused because it's 16gb each.
