A rig is more than merely a machine. Surely, the dream rig for everyone is just filled with Titan Blacks, i7s, and a ton of RAM? No, a rig goes beyond that. A rig is your space, and should be in your space.

Ideally, my dream rig would be set up in a neat little office, with the main tower sitting close enough to the entrance. Using the magic of hollow walls and really long cables, multiple monitors would be set up across the room, with a wireless keyboard and mouse to use across all of them. A microphone, set up with voice recognition so I can just google something without reaching for the keyboard from my reading chair. A Rift sitting on it's own little display shelf, next to an Obutto set up where I can race across space in my ship. My dream rig is so much more than just a machine.

I write books for an unliving.

I would post mine, but then I'd realise I can never afford and then I'd be sad.

A JRPG just wouldn't be a JRPG if it didn't end with teenagers using the power of friendship to kill God.

Dream build?

I would build a desk computer, in a corner desk, in a nice pine/sandalwood with an i7 5930k, asus x99 deluxe, 64gb of some reasonably good, but still relatively cheep ram, 3 gtx 980s and a xonar Phoebus card. I would do a few major mods though, I would make something similar to the rog armour, but custom for the motherboard, and I would use it to hide a load of pcie risers (ribbon cable kind). I would then redo the wiring form the risers as hardline sleaving (not very common, difficult to do, but awesome looking, running the wires through straight bits of the thin brass tube stuff you can get at hobby shops, then painting the outside) in four tubes, with each 90° turn being made of two 45° turn sections. Meaning that the graphics cards will be to the left side of the mobo, lying flat, with some ek waterblocks (nickle with the clear plastic front) facing upwards, sme position for sound card bellow them. This would then have 2 full custom hardline cooling loops put in, one for graphics cards and one for cpu+mobo and ram, but instead of tubing throughout the desk, the desk top would be a thick layer of acrylic with conduits for it to flow through in it, and tubing between parts going straight up into it, then down to each component (like project nv's custom ram block thing). Almost all cables would be out of sight, and those visible would be done in hardline sleaving. For storage there would be 4 wd reds 4tb in raid 10, 2 wd velociraptors in raid 1 and 4 730 series SSD's in raid 10, all accessible in a draw with hot swap mounting.

I may have spent too long planning this...
