Will my GPU suffer if I play 1080p games on 4k monitor

I want to buy a 4k monitor and using it for  adobe illustrator, Photoshop and 3ds max.

My question is will the my Gpu (RTX 2080) suffer if I play 1080p games on 4k screen. Will I get the same fps as a 1080p native screen.

....why wouldn't you just play at 4k? If you're getting something for color accuracy I doubt it's a high refresh rate monitor anyway.

Yes, you will get the same FPS as on 1080p panel. 

No, your GPU will not suffer. 

Yes, the game will look worse (blurry kind of) compared to if it was running at native 1080p.

This is my doubt too... OP has a 4k ready video card, worse case scenario at least set it 2560x1440p?

1440p borderless looks decent, 1080p full screen looks kinda bad.

I meant in case I can't run it ok full 4k. Other than that If I can run games on 4K with high setting I will
