Furaffinity might eventually face competition if demands grows, and while Derpibooru will only host MLP content, do have in mind actually lots of NSFW MLP artists also use Tumblr as their main pages so believe me any fan art suffers from this.

(Also as a sidenote, the majority of Tumblr's userbase was there for the porn, now that's gone the majority leaves and tumblr starts to fail as a site/company/thing. There's really no way they can get around this loss)

The echo chamber views the NSFW ban as an attach by big corporation/patriarchy/sudden appeal to conservatism/involuntary celibates (take your pick). They view this as an attack on "their space of tolerance" and censorship of them.

And the system is not working as intended. Right now, it's not only going after pornography, it's flagging content that is 100% okay by new layout that appeals to the echo chamber. Actual members aren't going "MY PORN!!1!" They're going "CENSORSHIP!!1!"

Everyone I've heard from (who were complaining about this) were screaming 'MY PORN ARTS AND STUFF' or 'MY INCOME' or something along those lines, literally no one I've heard from has said 'oh my god they're censoring us'
Because the majority knows this ban is because tumblr can't be bothered to filter the posts and therefore prevent any more child porn getting posted to the site (which is why this all started in the first place, when Apple said no because of that).

While I'm on here, I'm also on tumblr.

 

 

I've had one blog runner declare that despite that both of his blogs will very likely be fine, he's probably deleting them because of this new wave of censorship. I tell him that Tumblr has always been for censorship but now, they're not just targetting political dissent against them (meaning right leaning conservatives). Now, there is no probably. Now, he's definitely deleting his blogs Dec 17th if he can't rally enough people to get Tumblr to do a 180 on CENSORSHIP. Not just the NSFW rules, but CENSORSHIP as a whole. Except now Tumblr staff is ignoring any complaints.

I've watched one declare that these rules are arbitrary and that anyone looking at this in any kind of potential positive light is an involuntary celibate.

One heavy left SFW artist created a post on how this isn't just an attack on questionable content, but attacking anyone showcasing femininity, and that Tumblr is literally demonizing women.

More than a few furry artists (every single one that doesn't believe that this is politically motivated by the "bad guys" listed early) I follow are posting links to twitter, deviant art, furaffinity, pixiv, and whatever other platforms they use, for the 'just in case my blog gets deleted' event.

Same for a cartoonist I follow.

One is leaving because not only does he not support censorship, he doesn't support non uniform censorship that is happening within his own blog.
