What do you think of this ASUS Mobo?

Just bought the mobo to increase my oc potential because my I7 6700K Is sitting on a really low end board. The vdroop was so high on my current board I couldn't even go past 4.4-4.5 ghz.

Interested as to why you've chosen a Z270 chipset for a CPU designed with the Z170 chipset in mind. You could probably save a few bucks, will no real impact to OC performance, if you went with a high-end Z170 board instead.

I looked all over and I couldn't find many z170 boards.

asus boards are usually overpriced, so I wouldn't buy it 

 

but if you like the way it looks or find a good deal on it, then it's a good board for that cpu

The Prime Z270-A is an okay motherboard for overclocking. I had a Maximus VIII Gene, and I got a decent overclock on my 6700K with it.

 

Check out the ASUS Maximus VIII Hero if you want a good Z170/Z270 ATX motherboard for overclocking.

Please don't waste money buying expensive z270 board when you already have a z170, whatever little performance you may gain doing so will cost you so much absurd money and make no sense compared to just grab an i7 8700K system already.

The issue is, my current motherboard was feeding my CPU over 1.4v on idle constatly which is not safe. It also doesn't really have any c-state power saving features or anything for the voltage to go down when idling.

No, my voltage is that high when STOCK with no OC. Also I'm Canadian so I doubt they ship here.

Given this is an international forum and you didn't specify any thing, shrugs... just buy the overpriced z270-a.
