Though this was a good look.

Nice,

I do hope that 2080 has found a new home to fold in.

How are you controlling the temperature on those Strix? That looks really tight.

I swapped the 2080 into my Just NCASE build. Fits much better. The STRIX cards put out 1.4M PPD even with a temp/power limit. They never go over 83.

The advanced control is in the connecting state here which means it can not connect to the local host Control Server. Usually this means a Windows firewall issue.

OK, so if you got this looking at the logs in the advanced control you no longer have an issue with the Windows firewall.

"Enabled folding slot 00: PAUSED cpu:6 (not configured)"

is telling you that the CPU slot is not configured and, likely that the GPU slot is not configured.

Can you click on the "Configure" button on advanced control then select the "Slots" tab and send us a screen shot

If your CPU only folding I'm not certain what the delta might be. The 15-20% is typically quoted for GPUs.

FWIW I moved a GTX 1060 from a Linux rig to my Windows 10 Daily driver when I got a 2070 and comparing the production between the 2 systems on identical Work Units it seems to be performing about the same. So the whole Linux thing might be more applicable for higher end GPUs that require data to be moved more frequently on the PCIe bus to keep the GPU fed.

Until windows does something dumb and hogs all of the power for no reason. But I have noticed things to be more consistent since changing the priority of folding to real time in task manager.

do you want an image of the log? If you want u can remote in for me.

No, the image of the log is not required. But the image of the slot config I asked for would be helpful.

Did you get it working?

Good news - Just got home from a 2 night vaca. Both systems still running, temps stayed under control, and I got some really nice consistency between the last 2 days (within 30k of each other), though I think that's down to more luck.

edit: I just found out that by angling my fan differently, it took 2 degrees off both GPU temps... Very interesting... So logically I bumped the OC up to offset the temp drop xD

Great idea. I can't believe I am only coming across this topic now. I used Folding years ago but it somehow went missing during some fresh install and never got back on my PC. Installed now on all my computers. Just about got in there with just a little more than the 15 days left in the month.

My rig may be old and in need to a refresh, but it'll still chug through a few WU in a day.

If it gets stuck connecting/inactive the first thing to try is uninstalling and reinstalling F@H then if it does it again you need to look at your windows firewall settings. In fact it should have a windows that shows up after installing F@H asking if you want to grand permission on work, private, and public networks and make sure those boxes are checked.
