Posted March 31, 2018 If PIA can help me access US, UK and Canada Netflix then sure. But if not, I'll stick to PrivateVPN ($50/year, 56 countries) or ExpressVPN if I have more money ($100/year, 94 countries) which can get around Netflix's VPN blocks and both implement perfect forward secrecy. A while ago, Private Internet Access released a new policy stating that it does not support geo-locked content. This caused considerable confusion as well as panic and disappointment among its users, which is understandable considering that viewing geo-locked content is one of the main reasons they subscribed to the service in the first place. Posted April 18, 2018 Can anyone further elaborate why someone should pick PIA over NordVPN and vice versa? Since PIA is based in the USA and Nordvpn is based in Panama I am wondering if NordVPN is the safer choice. Posted May 13, 2018 Got PIA around 2 weeks ago, overall I'm happy so far. Works fine on Windows and iOS, however OS X app crashed once and refused to work until I restarted my computer (which I rarely do). As stated above, it doesn't work with Netflix but it does with some geo-locked content. I've just been going through captchas ("I'm not a robot") more often than I used to. Posted May 13, 2018 I recently switched to PIA from Tunnel Bear as my subscription ran out. I do a lot of work overseas, so a VPN is a must have for both security and access content. I have to say, PIA is a much cleaner experience than TB and it's cheaper. I found TB tried too much to be cute with their GUI, however it caused a lot of crashes both on Windows and Android. Posted May 16, 2018 I am tring PIA now and support sucks big time. I write them with a specific problem providing all the standard information needed. The first reply was basically a standard reply saying "it is not our problem" showing they did not even bother reading what i asked them and closing the email with "We appreciate you being an intricate member of the PIA family". I dont think is a good sign when somebody call you "intricate" I replied basically restating my problem. The answer was asking me basic information, some i told them already in the first email. Let's see when i will be able to get somebody from the technical service to consider me. For sure I had better experiences with other vpn services in terms of support. Posted May 21, 2018 Eventually i managed to get the answer i needed. I had to go back to my previous vpn for my very specific need but i have to admit that for the price is a great vpn that works very well and i am sorry i cannot use it. Posted August 21, 2018 I tried it wasn't that impressed with the speeds, have a 330/330 fibre line in BC and even at best settings that got cleaved down to 100/100 Ended up returning it, as without a pfSense router or other methods to increase the speed it just wasn't happening. If the VPN server is located in country like US, US government can still monitor and get their servers seize even if they don't keep any logs. A company location doesn't really effect that much but information such as billing address and credit card though but you if are looking to for extra privacy you shouldn't be giving VPN company your real address and credit details anyways. Basically any VPN server under a certain country is still under it country laws but if server is probably setup it should be fine and most VPN don't gain much from logging as it require more server cost but you still can sell customers traffic data but then you will lose your customer base and trust.
